About the Doctor

Dr. Robert Marzilli is a Ph.D. licensed clinical psychologist in private practice at Robert A Marzilli & Associates in Johnston, Rhode Island. He is very calm and professional, and good at making people feel comfortable and at ease. A high level of experience and compassion ensures his patients have his undivided time and attention.

Education

Dr. Marzilli graduated from Providence College with a bachelor’s in psychology and received a master’s at Roosevelt University of Chicago in clinical psychology. He achieved his Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Rhode Island, which included a psychology internship at Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital in Providence. Both URI and Bradley were APA-approved programs.

Experience

Dr. Marzilli has worked for the state of Rhode Island from 1969 to 1972, and as a psychologist for more than 30 years, starting his own practice in 1983 in Johnston, Rhode Island. He also helped develop and worked for 10 years as a psychologist at the Human Resource Institute in Norton, Massachusetts. He devoted five years to Project Alpha, an outpatient drug rehabilitation facility where he served as a consultant
During the time he worked for the state, Dr. Marzilli helped develop community clinics in Rhode Island and behavioral therapy clinics along with James Prochaska from URI. He also worked at House of Hope, where he did consulting for patient drug rehab programs. In addition to work in counseling, Dr. Marzilli taught for six years as an adjunct professor at CCRI.
